Suhr Modern

Blue Whale Burst Finish, Thornbucker pickups, made in USA

My main guitar since around 2021 has been my beautiful Suhr Modern in blue whale burst finish. This is a fairly unique model as it has a few differences from the regular production models.

While this is a dual humbucker guitar, I get some really good split coil tones from it. Most of my sound actually comes from the neck pickup split.

My action is super super low, measuring at about 2/64” from the 12th fret, with very minimal relief in the neck. I surprisingly don’t deal with buzzing or dead frets, as it plays and sustains perfectly with my touch. This is one the most comfortable guitars I have played. Despite trying other instruments, I seem to always come back to this one as my main guitar.

Some of the specs of this instrument include:

  • Flamed maple top (blue whale burst finish)
  • Basswood body
  • Roasted maple neck and fingerboard
  • Suhr Thornbuckers pickups
  • Volume + Tone (550k VIP pots)
  • 5 way blade switch
  • Suhr locking tuners
  • Gotoh 510 trem
